New to TFP and pool ownership

Good Morning! I'm here to learn about pool care as I am a new homeowner with a pool... that has been covered for years and has no working parts. I have no clue what I'm doing with the pool so don't expect me to answer any questions lol.

Let me draw your attention to a few things
1) ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry should help you decipher what you read here
2) Pool School has lots and lots of information. This article in particular may help you: Pool School - Visual Encyclopedia of Pool Equipment
3) The search box is your friend. You may want an answer now, but if it's very specific, you might not see a reply for days, if ever. But it could have been asked a few years ago, and you'll find it using the search box.

I've been browsing and have learned so much. We were going to fill the pool in simply because neither my husband or myself knew anything about pools and it seemed like too much to learn. You all have made it less daunting.
