moved to a house with a pool that we converted to SWG with a Hayward AquaRite S3. Installers set it to 50% which we upped to 100% after these very sunny days (also did a 24 hours of superchlorinate) but chlorine is negligible. Did all the tests in our Taylor test kit and am not sure how to get the chlorine upped with the following results just now.
FC .5
pH 7.8
CC .5
CH 175
TA 210
CYA 70

Apologies for my ignorance and thanks for any advice!

It's difficult for a SWG to bring FC up, easy for it to maintain it. Add about 2 gallons of 10% liquid chlorine to bring the FC up to 8 and then dial in SWG to keep FC where you want it. I keep mine around 8.

That cell in your pool should create 7ppm FC in 24 hours at 100%

You did not list your salt level. Do you have a K-1766 salt test? What is the salt level?

Think of the SWG as cruise control on your car. It's awesome at going from 62 to 65 MPH, but if you try to use it getting on the highway, you'll be rear ended and quick.

Whenever you need a *now* boost, mash the gas with a liquid chlorine dose, then fine tune with the SWG once you're at speed.

The OCLT will let you know if algae is brewing from the mishap.
