New Salt Water Pool Owner

Hello! I live on the North Carolina coast, and last fall, we installed a fiberglass saltwater pool. We have yet to use it much since the water has been chilly. So far, I have been successfully keeping the pool clean and the water clear, but I worry about the hot months ahead. The pool installer recommended using test strips, but I just invested in a Taylor Salt Water test kit. My goal is to keep the water as non-toxic as possible. I am looking to learn more about using more natural chemicals, such as baking soda and vinegar, to help balance chemicals. I am glad to have found this site and hope that it will be a great educational resource.

I take this to mean that you do not want chlorine in your pool water...

A saltwater pool is a Chlorine pool..
