New Pump Schedule Issue w/ Intelliflo VSF Pump and Easytouch Panel

Hi all,

I added a new pump schedule via the SL Config app and the Screen logic app in an effort to have the pool pump run 24/7.

I used Aux 3 for the new pump configuration and labeled it as "Low Speed" to have the the pump run at 1300rpm when the "Pool" and "High Speed" scenarios are not on. Prior to this I had a bifurcated pump schedule (labeled as "Pool" which runs the pump at 2,100rpm for general circulation and labeled as "High Speed" which runs the pump at 3,000rpm to skim) to work around our SCE TOU rates. The bifurcated schedule ran perfectly fine for the past 3 years, until I added the Low Speed scenario to the schedule this week.

Issues that I have noticed:
  1. Low Speed doesn't automatically come on as scheduled
  2. If I manually turn on the Low Speed scenario via the app, then the pump will shut off after a while even though the Low Speed, or the High Speed, or the Pool scenarios should technically be scheduled as being "on".

Below is a screenshot of my pump schedule from the Screenlogic app and a screenshot of the Setup Circuits tab from the SL Config app showing how I set up the Low Speed scenario.

Any insight and help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Wil,

I see 7 schedules.. How many egg-timers do you have that are not the default of 12 hours?? Anything not set to 12 hours counts as a schedule. You can only have a max of 12.

ScreenLogic will allow you to enter a bazillion, but only the first 12 will work.

Anything that you manually turn on will turn off when the egg-timer times out.

The key to setting pump speeds is to set your Pool circuit to the lowest speed you ever want to run.. Then set the Pool Circuit for 8 am until 8 am, that will run the pump 24/7.. You then turn on your other circuits to make the pump run faster, or turn them off, to make the pump run slower.

Not as important for you, as you don't have a SWCG, but the pump/filter relay will not close unless you are in the Pool mode or Spa mode.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hi Jim,

Really appreciate your reply, it helped a lot.

I have 7 egg timers that are not set to the default 12 hours so I think I'm in good shape on that front. I also went ahead and renamed a couple circuits (Pool>Pool Low and Low Speed>Pool) as it made more sense to me. In addition, I updated the schedule to have the new "Pool Low" circuit (1300 RPM) run from 8am to 8am and the new "Pool" circuit (2100 RPM) run from 900am to 300pm and again from 905pm to 200am.

I do have an IC60 SWCG (updated my sig line); will the "Pool Low" running at 1300 RPM cause any issues other than the SWCG not activating/producing chlorine gas when the pump is running at 1300rpm?

Updated schedule attached.

🙏

Wil,

If your salt cell is wired to the pump/filter relay, like it is required to be, then your cell will only work when in the Pool or Spa mode.

It will not work, when the Pool Circuit is not on...

Just because you add "Pool" to the Circuit name, does not mean it will turn on your Pool Circuit..

As a test, put your system into the Service mode.. Wait about a minute and tell me if your cell has any lights on. If it does, it is not wired correctly and can actually explode. It does not happen often, but does happen.

Thanks,

Jim R.
