Hello so it looks like I may need another motor/pump setup in my future. My current motor/pump starts fine and runs fine current is within range. Changed the run capacitor as well. The issue is while its running if you stop it and try to restart it humms and pulls high amps and never takes off. Rotates by hand fairly easily as well. After you let it cool down it works fine. I took it all apart and cleaned it out. Couldn’t find an issue so I assume one of these times it will wipe the motor.
Was wondering is it better to get just a new motor if the pump is fine? Or change the whole thing as a unit? Would prefer to match up the pump piping so its as easy as spinning a union and sliding the new one in.

I was looking at a VFD drive Hayward. Currently have a 2ez two speed motor
