New, proud owner of neglected 50 year old gunite pool

I am lazy and did not read all the posts but in regards for an automatic pool cover they can be added to an already built pool either with tracks on top of pool deck which are very low profile or underneath pool coping on the tile. Zodiac pool covers are really good and can hold multiple adults and have pump to keep standing water off, a lot lf Californians have them, thy are pricy!

What a transformation! You won't regret bringing this beauty back to life!

Thank you everyone for the positive feedback! They are supposed to be setting up the pump today but we were out and getting in later tonight.

As for the cover, it was too expensive, the built-in one doesn't fit with the stairs so it would have to be the track kind, and my wife's one condition was that we put in a fence around the pool (the backyard is currently fenced in, but we have two young daughters and a dog so we are aging a 5 ft aluminum fence around the concrete)

Somewhere down the road I'll be adding a heater.

Thanks, i was thinking alarms for the back doors would be good, especially now the pool is filling up, so i just ordered some on Amazon. Thank you!

If man can build it, a child will eventually find a way to thwart it!

I put one extra engineering control in place. I removed the deadbolt locks on my pool-facing doors and replaced them with deadbolts that require keys for both inside and outside. Now my kids would have to figure out where the keys are, figure out a way to get to them, and then actually figure out how to use them to unlock the doors. While not infallible, it is a rather difficult hurdle for them to get across.

I like that idea! ANY thing to slow them down! Just so long as YOU do not lose the key LOL!
