New pool valve automation help

I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the getting started section. Hopefully I chose wisely.

I had my pool installed by Leisure Pools. When speaking with them I was convinced to purchase the Hayward Omnilogic so everything would be automated. However now that it is setup, I am a little disappointed by it. I suspect it is because of the way they setup the valves. I will post a pic in the next post.

Basically I have 3 electrically actuated valves. The thing that annoys me is that they are all swiching valves, so I can't have both on at the same time. So, I have a choice between sending water back to the spa or the pool. From there I can either send water to my tanning ledge bubblers or the normal jets on the side of the pool.

My question, is am I being to anal? Is it unrealistic to want to be able to have the spa on and the bubblers? Shouldn't each have an individual valve?

Of course none of these details were written out in my contract and I didn't know any better to ask. However, the whole reason I got the Omnilogic was because she said I could control everything from my phone.

Also, feel free to let me know if you see anything else wrong with this. As mentioned, I am completely new to this.

When you have a pool and spa there are two valve that control the switching between the pool and the spa.. These two valves are called the Intake valve and the Return valve and they are pretty much supposed to be plumbed in a specific way... The Intake valve selects if water is being sucked from your pool or your spa.. Your Intake valve looks OK to me.. The Return valve has to select if water is being returned to the Pool or the Spa.. Your Return valve does that (Kinda).. It is not how I would have plumbed it, but it is pretty standard.

If you run the bubbler and the spa at the same time I suspect that you will not have near enough jet action..

It is your pool.. Tell them you want the bubbler moved to take water before the Return valve.. They will either do it for free or tell you what it will cost...

I am thinking I want a separate valve for each. I don't know about the pressure. I assume if I have the return going to the pool and the bubblers and have my pump on high, that it will still be enough power for the kids to play. You may be right that if I have the spa and the bubblers going at the same time with the pump on high that it might not be enough. However, the air pump seems to blow pretty hard, so maybe that will compensate.

You MUST have the standard Intake and Return valves.. It is how the automation expects it to be.. You do not want a separate valve for each function..

In my diagram is a valve just for the bubbler so that you can turn it on and off no matter what mode the system is in...

Now that I think about it, you might want two valves in the bubbler line.. An automated one that allows you to turn it on or off, and a manual one, that allows you to adjust the "normal" height of the bubbler..
