If you aren't happy with how it looks, it wouldn't be much trouble to chip that corner off. It looks like they did that to keep the rounded look of the spa seperate from the straight line of the pool wall.

Let the coping/tile guys know what you want when they show up... Shouldn't take much more than a couple minutes to change that.

Got it, figured it could be an issue with robot cleaner getting in those corners.. ie more maintenance on my end to keep brushing. Looks good actually.

Yeah, the tile guys wont be the happiest, but they can do it. They completely reshaped our spa (took them a couple days, but they did it) sawing, chiselling, hammering and applying cement back to it. The stone/tile guys wanted to make sure we were happy with the final look/shape (moreso than our PB project manager)...

Enjoying watering your shell? It's HOT out there!

Work will stop for a while now... to get a jump on things, be sure to have your tile and grout selected (you got the trav coping right?). It can all be ordered right now and arrive on site while the shell cures. Push to have the stone/tile guy arrive on site asap once the shell has cured their required days. I think the raise bond beam 'steps' will look awesome in your travertine.

Yes, materials selected and will be delivered next monday. Tentatively scheduled to start coping next Wednesday.

2nd day of watering early at 5.30 am. Hot but humid.

Copping installation began today. Question about the gunite being wider than the copping any issue when installing cement? It will probably touch ie no room for the mastic joint.

Looking good! I'm excited to see that cascade down the front of the spa with the rockwork. You and I will have to compare notes on water treatment to limit hard water deposits... your water is as hard as mine! I'm curious, how does the inside of your skimmer intake with the tiling look?

Will the coping be sealed or coated with anything?

Yes, looking forward to see how the cascade will look since we had to modify the original plans.. its going to be made from the same ledge stone to match the back wall. Placed at an angle vs stepped.

I'm aloso concerned about the stone and hard water build up..

I might try stonetech for sealing thetravertine to give it the darker wet look. Undecided about the ledge stone..

Major dilemma, we just realized that PB ordered Tumbled Vs Honed Travertine we really wanted honed and the process is pretty advanced.. PB Offered to pull and order the correct travertine what do you all recommend any true benefit to tumbled travertine? We would seal it at this point to give it a similar look to honed. We will do concrete with light brown.

I don't know what the visual difference is, but the stuff you have there looks nice to me (though I'm not a travertine guy).

What would the surface difference be for gripping purposes? Would one of them be better for the feet and non-slip vs. the other?

On the flip side, what's the cost difference, be sure that things work out properly in your favor... at least to be fair.

Be sure to have things done the way YOU want them... while getting other stone will delay things a bit, the time is nothing compared to making sure your pool is exactly as you want it... it's your pool, make sure it's right!
