32”round above ground pool which has been a huge headache since we opened it. We finally got our water crystal clear but 4 days ago it started to turn. Yesterday was horrendous so we went to pool atore and added 8bags of shock per their recommendation.... today is still faintly green, went back to store they suggested clear aid, added that but still no changes. We’re desperately trying to get it in good shape for tomorrow.... any last minute life saving recommendations?
Also want to ask, where should I start in tfp as far as learning how to maintain a pool? I’ve read articles here and there but truly don’t understand where to even start.

Welcome to the forum. Any idea what your cya level is even off pool store tests and your FC level? Gotta start there and get that FC high enough to reach SLAM level and keep it there. There's a chart in Pool School. Get that FC there with liquid bleach NOW and run the pump till after the party at LEAST! Post back with any numbes you have and read the ABCs in Pool School. Get the ph in mid 7 range before the SLAM.

The first step in maintaining your pool is buying a good test kit. TFP recommends the TFTkits TF100 or Taylor K-2006C. You cannot rely on the pool $tore to keep your pool clear! They will sell you stuff that makes you chase a clear pool, so you have to keep returning to them for more $tuff. Once you get a Test Kit a lot of what you read will make perfect sense. Follow the steps in Pool School religiously. Trust the good people on this site; they don't want to sell you anything, they just want to help you understand your pool :D
