New pool owner, heater operations

Just bought a new house with a pool. It has the heater from this manual:

There’s a conduit running to the heater but it has no electrical wire in it. However, I’m not seeing anything in this manual about an electrical connection requirement. Do these sorts of heaters need an electrical feed?

Its a millivolt heater - no electrical connections needed.

Ok. Good to know before I hired an electrician to hook up something that doesn’t need it! They must have had a different heater before that one that drew electric.

Any idea on how to troubleshoot it? The pilot light is lit but the heater doesn’t fire up. No idea what to do, and I really don’t have any electrical testing equipment....
