thanks @mknauss
question for you as fellow nevada resident. I am set on going SWG, I was just wondering about timing given that we are going into the winter. Does it get cold enough here that SWG would not work for the winter months anyway?
First time I have seen this suggestion on TFP. The recommendation has been 2x. I understand your rationale, but is this recommendation because he has a pool size that would allow a 3x cell?Any SWCG would best be at least 3x your pool volume.
The SW desert climate. We can easily lose 5 or 6 ppm FC per day June, July, and August.First time I have seen this suggestion on TFP. The recommendation has been 2x. I understand your rationale, but is this recommendation because he has a pool size that would allow a 3x cell?
I suspect in Las Vegas (especially the west side) your water will be cold enough in December, January, and February that the SWCG will not operate. For me here in Laughlin, it normally is only 6 weeks or so in late December and January.Does it get cold enough here that SWG would not work for the winter months anyway?

Add liquid chlorine as needed. Typically once or twice a week. What do you do during those months that it's too cold for your SWCG to operate? I ask because I am still debating on whether to go with a SWCG or not.
Thanks!
Sam
Remember that frequency is for the winter. In the summer it will be daily, or at least every other day.Add liquid chlorine as needed. Typically once or twice a week.
FYI in case someone is concerned with draining their pool a significant amount to replace water:
