New Pool Owner - equipment recommendations

Hi all!

We just purchased a home (SWFL) with an inground pool. It is only 2 years old so equipment is new. It currently has an inline chlorinator. The pool equipment is Jandy except for the pool heater. We have a Jandy transmitter and remote as well. I am looking to possibly switch to a salt system and also get the Aqualink3.0 so we can control the pool from our phones. I would imagine I need to keep the salt system Jandy in order to see/control it from our phones? I was given a quote on a Pure Color 25k system.

There is also a pool autofill but the water line was never installed. Is this worth completing? We are home year round aside from vacations.

I hope that makes sense!

Welcome to TFP.

How many gallons in your pool?

We recommend a SWG be 2X the capacity of the pool. With a 40K pool that is difficult to achieve. The largest cell Jandy has in the 40K Aquapure PLC1400. A 25K is too small a system.

Only Pentair and Circupool make 60K cells. Otherwise you need to run two 40K cells for enough chlorine capacity.

You want the Jandy Aqualink RS with the Purelink PLC1400 40K cell. Then put in a separate Jandy Aquapure system. The Aqualink can only control one SWG system.

Thank you for the info. I didn’t think my pool was that big. So the pool is 24x12 and the deepest end is 5’. I got the 40,000 gallons from Pinch A Penny who tested my water for me. I believe they took info off of the county website on my pool size. I measured the 24x12 myself so I know that is accurate. I haven’t messed at all with the pool yet chemical wise.

24x12’ with an average 4 foot depth would be 8600 gallons. If all 5’ deep then maybe 10,500 gallons.

Big difference and shows you why you should not trust anything from a Pool Store.

One 25K PLC700 Aquapure cell will be fine if your pool is that size.
