New pool owner, didn’t know swg was broken and it is now a chlorine pool… I’m in Phoenix

How are you testing your water?
If you have a recommended kit (Link-->Test Kits Compared)

You need to maintain your FC according to your CYA. Link-->FC/CYA Levels

Hi, welcome to TFP! I'm not sure what your question is, but if you are using one of the recommended test kits, you should use liquid chlorine to raise the chlorine level of your pool. Your CYA is high but manageable if you plan to repair the SWG. If not you should drain and replace about 40% of the water to lower the CYA. Once you decide what to do with the CYA lower the pH and raise the FC. Don't worry about the TA. It will change when you lower the pH.

For future reference, a salt pool IS already a chlorine pool. Bothnise chlorine as a sanitizer. It’s just that the cell makes the chlorine for you on site.
I’ll get the lingo down thank you for correction. I used salt test strip and it showed there was nacl in the pool but the FC was so low. Swg turns on… I called the pool company who took care of the pool for the old owners and they said the swg is broken

Ooof it’s 80, so I suppose the true number is closer to 170?

The salt cell may need cleaning or it may need to be replaced. The prior pool company may not do repairs, just cleaning and chemicals.
