New pool - no main drains

Matt,

Main drains are not required, but to get your water below the skimmers, when you close, you will need some kind of sump pump.

I would want 4 or 5 returns where you had at least one on each "wall" of the pool. I understand freeform pools don't have walls, but the concept is still the same.. You want to be able to have the returns cause the water to swirl like a giant flushing toilet bowl, but obviously much, much slower. I have a rent hose pool with three returns and it is just not enough...

I suspect your builder only wants to do 3 returns because he does not want to run plumbing to the far side or you pool.. That is just not a good enough reason.

Thanks,

Jim R.
