I got this one. It lasts forever if you can’t find a smaller one. Any of them work just make sure they are pure with no additives. The snow melt-y ones have iron and so do a lot of the Chlorox brand.

‘Broadcast’ it around the deepens and brush immediately so it doesn’t harden on the floor if any chunks didn’t dissolve.

GM. so i got the calcium just had few questions before i add.

1. should i add all 15lbs in one shot or do half / test and add rest later?
2. does it dissolve and shows up right away or its like CYA which takes few days?
3. i have to add some CYA as well . even though it will be in sock by returns should i wait to add CYA or it can be done together ?

Calcium can’t be undone so we usually recommend doing 75% or so and creeping up to target. But if you’re only looking to get to 150 or so with vinyl, a little overshoot won’t matter.

It dissolves pretty quick with some brushing of the stubborn pieces on the floor. Give it a half hour of circulation with some brushing and you should see it.

If you have shallow end jets and dump CH in the deep end they are plenty far enough away. If not then add them separately just because.

You are welcome to add calcium if you wish, but there is no need unless you are having foaming of the pool water. You have a heat pump, not gas fired heater, so calcium is of no use for it.

so my levels for CH 50 is fine ? i can return it , i don't have to add it if i don't need to. i don't have foaming issue.

ones question i have is about my PH its always around 7.8 POOLMATH suggest range from 7.2 - 8.0 should i always try to maintain around 7.5 or leave it at 7.8 and wait till hits 8 and try to bring it down with acid?

7.8 is between 7.2 and 8, so no need to mess with it. When it hits or is above 8, lower it to 7.6.

my water seems little dull do you think i should drop my PH from 7.8 to 7.5? i haven't added any acid in atleast two weeks. my ph has been flat at 7.8 and haven't moved. am i over thinking this? should i leave it alone? my TA is at 80.

I would not go below 7.5. No need to.
Do I have to worry if CC is 1 ? It’s been always around .5. Pool looks fine and now that I have the cya up looks like I am losing 2 ppm a day. Starting yesterday I lowered the swg by 10%. Will test 1 more time to double check.

edit : just tested again and my CC IS .5 . also my FC is 8.5 jump of 1ppm. i think i might know what the problem is .when i tested before my pump was running on low speed . second time i tested it was on much higher speed for skimming. does that make sense ?

Not sure the pump speed would have much to do with CC. If you get a CC of 1, retest (as you did). Then follow up with an OCLT if issues persist.
