Lol! You have an eye for details, Kim! I didn't even see that wooden spoon. Well, this is the story:
The night we filled the pool, I calculated about how long it would take to complete it based upon its prior rate of fill once it reached the sunshelf., and we went to bed. We set the alarm. My husband got up first. He said it needed more water. When it was my turn, I got up kind of groggy, like getting up with a new baby. I couldn't see the waterline cause it was still dark. But I knew my sunshelf was supposed to be six inches deep. So I knew if it went up 6 inches it would be full. I put the wooden spoon in and then took it out. I went inside and measured the wet spot. It was 7 inches! I determined it was full and turned off the water. Lol!
Now that I'm thinking about it, I am not sure how I figured it out. But our super arrived later and said the water was perfect. [emoji3][emoji3]Apparently, I laid it there and it's been there ever since.
Yep! I need a maid service.

By the way, yes we love the pool. I keep getting freaked out because I haven't seen anyone checking the water. Our school is scheduled for the 11th. I can't wait to get the water under our control so I know whether it's chlorinated. Waiting for my TFP test kit. :)

BUT see Janny you get the neatest stories from noticing the little things and asking about them!

What is funny is I tend to look all around a picture instead of just at the main subject to see the "real" picture! You can find out some neat things about people and places.

I am so glad you are enjoying the pool. There is nothing like it!

Kim

Kim: We'll call you Eagle Eye Kats!!! I had a hard time finding the spoon in my second look...

Janny: The picture of you in your pool is now my favorite! Your smile out sparkles your pool water! And that's amazing! Wow.... looking at your backyard, I see why your smile is so big!

I give you fair warning..... I'm stopping one of these days on my way to Austin. How far off of 290 are you?
Suz.

I forgot to mention my light is rusty colored inside, my racer is laying in its side, algae started to form on my bench and floors (very light), and chunks of plaster appeared on the floor.
So plaster people supposedly coming out, warranty people coming out and our super came by to check the chlorine Text from super: "chlorine is low so I added tabs and shocked the pool."
So I checked everything with my kit last night.
These were my numbers. I may have forgotten to write something down.
Chlorine: 8
CC: .5
TC: 8.5
Calcium hardness: 125
Alkalinity: 210
CYA : <20

Does this mean I need to add soda ash.
I know the chlorine is high, but PB shocked the pool.
As high hot as my backyard is and as low as my CYA is I'm thinking it will burn out quickly.
Any comments or suggestions from the experienced pros on here?

PH test please.

You are the one that thought you had water in your light right????? (Too lazy to read back LOL)

chunks of plaster???? More info. please.

I would NOT add anything without the okay of your PB. You MUST follow his directions to maintain your warranty. Of course you might get lucky that your PB will see that you have a good test kit and DO know what to do and will allow you to do what needs to be done. Just run everything by him in writing!

Yes, I'm the one:

Asked him about it then and sent him this photo.

Yes, little thumb size chunks on the floor. And little indents with no pebbles. Weird. They are supposed to be coming. According to the pool builder.
