New pool, Manor, Texas

Those are some mean-looking clouds! Add some green and a touch of pink and I'd be worried. It's been a rough spring, but I think the worst is over.

That tile! I love it. Thanks for posting the extra pictures. All the different blues and aquas are wonderful! Your pool is really moving along! That's why you've got the big smile!

Yes, Suz, I was actually trying to get those clouds in there. That was the day Sunbaby was having her pebble sheen done and was worrying about rain.
I love the way the tiles with the glass accents look too. I think it added just a little extra.
Yes, the pool is moving along. We go on vacation about the time it is supposed to be complete. But they are trying to coordinate around that so that we can be here to sweep the pebble tech.

Just got word our decking begins early next week. Cleanup should finish by July 14. Then we get our fence damage repaired. We have to rebuild the gate to meet code. Then we are off on vacation. Plastering will have to wait until we return. So I guess swimming will be late July or early August. We tried to start this process early enough to swim most of the summer. Reality is that one should begin planning a pool far in advance (much like a wedding!) because it is a huge undertaking. But that's just my advice based upon my limited experience. [emoji3]

Plan/Contract Fall, build Winter/Spring, swim Summer. Very exciting about the deck! I haven't left my poo/deckl for 3 hours now. You'll be there in no time.

That's great your decking begins in just a few days now! I'm in the middle of ours, and I tell ya', it's wonderful to be at this stage! It's like getting rid of a lot of clutter and stacks inside the house, but someone else is doing it for you!!!! I like that!

I think it will be really great to get away for a bit on vacation. I don't think until you get away do you realize what an ordeal this happy project is. I know for us, just getting out of the house to shop for a full day is wonderful. Ya'll will come back refreshed and ready to move on with the plaster, startup, tying up loose ends, and finishing any landscape repairs needed. It seems like the end, but there really are several little things to get going. But by then, I think it will be so much less stressful and fun. Plus, you guys will be rested from the trip. At least, I hope that's how it works for you!

Where were you a year ago to tell me that very valuable and true long-term plan????? Huh??? Oh, wait a minute..... You were here - I wasn't!

You are so right about that time frame. I hope others beginning to think about building a pool read that and follow it! I have found that all of my time estimates were ALWAYS wrong. And I thought I was adding time cushions to each mental deadline. Ha!!

Okay, I came home to a huge pile of rocks in my front yard/street. And several workers!!! So excited. Of course the passers by we're not looking too happy going around those rocks. Lol!
But... Then I went to the backyard. It's amazing how it has been transformed. The forms are ready. The rocks (gravel) is in. The footings for our pergola are dug and I was so excited that the HOA phoned to let me know my pergola was approved. Yay! So, I'm going to take some pictures. Lol.

And deck between house and pool. I can't wait to see the finished product. It looks like rebar is next.

Ok, I'm waiting! Snap to, Jannylee! WHERE are those pictures! Just kidding.... I'm really excited for you - I know the feeling. This really is an exciting stage of the build. Especially when it feels like you've been waiting and waiting!

Relax a couple of minutes, then take those pictures!!!
Suz.

Yes, they are a welcome sight. We had no activity last week. I was off all week. Waiting. So this is pretty exciting. It's too bad we have to wait on the plaster/pebble sheen due to our vacation. But we are meeting family at the beach and it's been planned for a year. Plus we are the hosts. So, I guess plaster will wait. Lol.

And just like that.. "They were gone!"

Leaving the rocks in the street (garbage pick up tomorrow) and the trailer. Of course they were sweet enough to park the bobcat in my front yard under the shade tree.

I'm fine. It's just so comical. I've lived in this neighborhood nine years and I've always been super fearful of breaking any of the numerous strict rules. Now I have a bobcat parked in my front yard and rocks in the street. I think I'm laughing at myself.
