New pool, learning about what to use

I also just moved into a new place with a pool and the recent rain makes the pool turned green (I am in Sydney!), went to Bunnings and see lots of pool chemicals from the brand Baracuda, just wondering if anyone here has use it before and how is it?

Recommended Pool Chemicals

Which should I buy? TFP's recommended pool chemicals are cheap, easy, and won't unbalance your pool water.

Note they can come from just about any store. The kind you looked at are "branded" for pools so cost a bit more. Where the stuff we use are everyday stuff like baking soda! MUCH cheaper and easier to find.
