Building new rectangle IG pool, need to make decision on Filter, PB standard equipment is JANDY

20,000 Gallon, Chlorine

here are my choices;

Cartridge filter CV340 or
Diatomaceous Earth DEV48

Any suggestions, Thanks

I have de. I wanted cart but my builder loves de. I like it. I thought dumping the powder was going to be a pain but it isn’t. I keep it in a tub in the pool house so no dust gets anywhere. I have s primaries bucket for after backwashing so I don’t need to measure. I fill to that line and go dump it. I’m not minding it. I don’t have to backwash very often at all this year. 1 time so far since March.

Just my experience so far. I like having the multi port valve cause it makes it nice and easy to get water out of the pool when it gets too high. My backwash line goes right into my gutters so it makes it mess free also with no lugging the hose out either when I need to backwash.
