From what I know, most of the PB's in our area do it the same way. When I interviewed the PB candidates, they all talked about 'stubbing out' for the plumbing and electrical or whatever. I'm sure it's for the very reason to protect the integrity of the pipes, etc.

Superwy: I have no idea where I've been while your build has been going on. I think I had yours mixed up with another. And I remember when you first began, you didn't have pictures posted but a link TO your pictures. I told myself I would come back to those, and I thought I did, but obviously I didn't. The kids and pets didn't look like the ones in the other build I had you confused with. When I saw your link to pictures again and opened it, I thought, "All the players have changed!" My son is gone this weekend looking for 'one of those homes' for me!
Your pool is going to be great! And it's so wonderful to have such a great relationship with your builder. I'm envious that you get to build a second pool. That HAS to make a difference. I love my pool, but after each phase, I've already made a mental checklist of what I would do differently in my next lifetime! Gosh, the millions of things I did not know - it boggles my mind....
I can't wait to see the next stages of your pool build. I will be more present from now on!!!!

LOL, usually it's difficult for us northeastern folks to keep the TX builds straight.
This is the first year I've seen so many MA pools under construction at the same time.

Then there was one build I saw where I there was a pic of them walking ON the pipes in the trench without any dirt of covering over it

So, I just saw this. Must admit I am in Falmouth with friends drinking margaritas and loving these posts. Celebrating my husband's 43rd birthday and loving life. We ate very fortunate and happy for our good fortune. Happy night to alll!

We had hoped gunite would happen Friday, but a late inspection delayed us, so it will be Tuesday or Wednesday. Things are on track, it just is a lot of waiting. I'll be sure to take pictures when the gunite is going in!

Will anyone be home for the shoot? On another build is really paid off as they were turning the beach entry into a tanning ledge! Since he was home he was able to call the PB and get it fixed.

We have a pool! The crew came at 6:30 this morning and finished about 1:00pm. It was so hot here today I was happy they finished before the heat got the best of them. The owner was on site all day and it went really well. We even got a rain shower this afternoon to give it some water!

Tonight he watered but they are setting up sprinklers and a timer tomorrow. We are headed away for a few days so I am glad they think of everything. It seems so real now but still a long way to go.

Monday they are coming to scope out electric, clean up the yard a bit and start plumbing. We are moving!

It has been so long since I posted. We are moving along at a decent pace. It seems like forever but is actually running on time. We have coping and tile, our wall and firepit are built, and they are finishing up the waterfall. Next week they will complete the patio and final grading, fence and the into pebble the next week. So close to being done! We should get a few weeks to enjoy it but it will be ready to go next spring. Sadly the kids start school on Tuesday, which is just so early this year. After school swims it will be.
