We got gunite on Thursday, watered that night and 3x on Friday. There was a thunderstorm last night and today our water is almost neon green and it seems to be staining where it is weeping near the dry plumbing. I’m not so much worried about the weeping as I am about the color, is this normal?

Our was different shades of green when it had water sitting in it from various rain storms. It’ll be fine. They’ll pump it out when they com to tile your pool. For now, enjoy watering three times a day!!!

Plumbing was started this morning and equipment dropped off this afternoon. They said they’ll be back to hook everything up in the morning. I panicked a little about the valves behind the pool but the PB said they’ll be buried with valve boxes. (They’re to adjust the scuppers individually at startup to ensure even flow since they’re are different distances from the equipment)

Make sure the equipment matches what is on your contract!

I checked the equipment and noticed the plumber installed a Hayward C4030 instead of the C5030 in our contract so the PB is going to have it swapped out. Otherwise everything else matched the paperwork.

Tile started yesterday, they came back today and I assume will be back tomorrow.
Pics of what’s been installed so far and I am happy with our choices. I didn’t pick a grout color and it was a little dark when applied but it dried lighter and I think what they used looks great. Still have the 2x2 tumbled travertine on the columns to do, grout on coping and can’t wait to see the glass tile installed on the spa!
Raised wall: 2x4 Light Split Face Travertine
Columns: 2x2 Light Tumbled Travertine
Waterline: MasterTile Mascaspea 6
Plaster: Wet Edge Signature Matrix Caribbean
Spa comfort curve: Keystone 1x2 Aqua Blue

Tile took 5 days but is beautiful! Can’t wait until it’s all cleaned up and sparkling 😍

We had decking poured on 8/22. Our patio builder set our posts but he had to cut out part of our existing patio so with that plus the original patio and the extension we did a few years ago, it's looking pretty patchy  but once spray decking and patio tile goes in I hope it helps camouflage it. The cleanup crew also came and took all the construction trash and leveled out the dirt so I'm trying to get started on landscaping plans. We know we want artificial grass on the far end of the pool but thats all we've decided. We were supposed to get plaster today but it was pushed to Thursday or Saturday because of Hurricane Laura :cautious: and of course we had a BEAUTIFUL day today but I figure better safe than sorry. I'm not so much worried about the application as I am about large amounts of rain in a freshly plastered pool affecting the PH. I read PH is really important in the startup phase.

Late update (I’ve been busy BRUSHING 🥵😂) : We filled our pool on 8/28, it took 15 hours with 2 hoses. The water was super green at first! The startup tech came on Monday and ran everything and put chemicals in but didn’t talk to me so I got no additional instructions from him. The pool is already looking bluer and I love it more each day and so glad we went with Wet Edge Signature Matrix Caribbean. Our pool builder told us to brush the pool twice a day until they tell us it’s safe to swim (1-2 weeks) pretty sure we’ll only last 1 week before I start bugging her 🤣. They started demo and construction on our patio so that has helped keep us out of the pool but I’m net skimming the pool like a mad woman. The base for our artificial grass was installed today with grass going in tomorrow so I’ll have updated pics after.
