New Pool Build Fort Worth TX

I still don't see water :(

I know [emoji22]. They brought in sand and dirt for the yard after clearing out the debris and put the fence back up yesterday. They are supposed to come tomorrow to fix a couple of minor things. Then clean and prep the pool on Thursday. And we are tentatively scheduled for plaster on a Friday (if we don’t have a rain delay).

The sprinkler guy is booked until next week so we have to wait until then to get the sprinklers re-routed and the sod put in.

Hey at least things are still happening...wx looks spotty at best but this is Texas and 60% chance of rain is almost like 20% :)

Very close! Congrats!
Our project started out very promising, but rain a couple of weeks ago pushed a bunch of stuff back for us. Now with this tropical storm coming, we could be further delayed. At least if we do get 10-15" of rain, my "pool" will have water in it. haha...

Annnnd we have PLASTER!!! They were originally scheduled to show up today, then rescheduled it for Saturday. But they drove up this morning as I was leaving for work! I thought they would have to cancel because it was raining, but my husband said they hung out for an hour until the rain stopped.

They will be coming back tomorrow to do the acid wash and then we get to fill the pool!

Yes!!! Crazy how fast the crew works. That looks so good. Can't wait to see some water on it.

Yes, it has only been a month since they broke ground, so a very fast build! The blue color will mostly come off with the acid wash. We chose NorthShore Tahoe Pebble from Wet Edge, and it's a grey colored pebble that should produce a very pretty darker blue color with water in it. Although the tanning ledge will probably stay looking more on the grey side, even with water, since it is so shallow. But we saw it in person after viewing quite a few pools and we think it looks really, really good in person!

Just saw your build thread and read it "cover to cover"! I love your tile and I may just steal it when it comes time to pick out our own colors tomorrow for our pool. Your plaster looks great too. Can't wait to see it when it starts getting filled with water.

These are my first water test results.

So, what do we need to add or do first? The pool finished filling at 5am this morning. We probably won’t get the equipment turned on until tomorrow.

Also, we still have a LOT of blue plaster showing all over (the pebble we chose is grey and you can see some of it, but there are lots of patches of blue). We will do the first brush this morning, but the PB didn’t give us anything to brush with yet. How long does it take for the blue plaster dust to go away?

We are super excited to have our pool done and water in it!!

This week they will finish installing all the sprinkler re-routes, sod, and bring the ring and glass for the fire pit conversion.

Awesome...now its time to brush brush brush brush...did I say brush :)

Since the pool was just filled and under the control of your PB I would ask him what is next. I didn't do anything and let my PB get chems up but I did test (a lot) adjust kept posting results. The TFP experts will let you know what to do soon...

Oh...make sure you BRUSH the pool daily and probably at least twice a day!

Yay water!!! It will take a few days for the water/plaster color to really show so try not to worry about it too much. It was almost a full week before mine started to look like what I was expecting. Brushing helps speed this up.

Also on the chemicals I'll let someone else answer more extensively but the main thing you will have to work on initially is your PH which will remain high for a while with the new plaster so get some muriatic acid to lower.

When our pool finished the equipment was turned on the next day and it will get cloudy. But after 5 days of brushing it cleared up. I took over chemicals on day 3 the PB was using pucks which was fine because my cya was low. On that note I found out a cya text before the first week is not reliable because of all the plaster dust

Shopping list:

muriatic acid-make sure it is the 31% kind. It is usually outside by the pool stuff.

liquid chlorine-where will you be able to swing in on a as needed basis.

Your PB should add the CYA. He might do it with pucks. That will add FC and CYA. BUT it is a slow way to add CYA.Once your PB lets you take over the water care you can buy some powder CYA to get it up to where you need it.

Your CH is a little low. Look back at the set of links I gave you for the one about chemicals-recommended. Again, though, your PB might add something.

Your PB holds the warranty card so what he says goes. We have had some PO show the PB their test kit and how they know how to use it. The PB let them take over the care of the water with the PB providing the chemicals. See if your PB will agree to this.

That water looks awesome! SO pretty and it will only get better!

Wowsa!! I think that's about the fastest pool build I've seen here lately. Good job!!! :goodjob:

Now...what are the plans for adding a bit of privacy around the neighbors view?? Is that in the works? I've got an idea or two if you need...?

YES... please give us suggestions!! We are so lost on landscaping! We need something that tolerates Texas heat and our SWCG pool. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

And yes, we are ecstatic at how fast our pool build has been. Four weeks from excavation to water [emoji4]

Thank you Kim!! [emoji38]. I wasn’t sure if we needed to start immediately, or wait until after the PB did their stuff

We picked up Chlorine and Muriatic acid to have on hand.

Thanks for that info! We would have freaked out if the water got cloudy!

Thank you! We can’t wait to see the final color, although it is a beautiful turquoise color right now.

lol... so, we should try to brush it once in a while?! Lol [emoji23]

We brushed this morning with a regular brush and picked up an aluminum pole to use with the wall whale brush and my husband is brushing the pool with that now. He says he loves the whale brush... makes it so much easier!!
