New Pool Build - Conroe, TX - LOTS of pics! Come say hi Y'all.

When we have a "gully washer" our crayfish come up and out. One of our dogs has a bark just to let us know he is protecting us from them! He got his face too close one time and could NOT get the crayfish to let go! LOL I was laughing too much to help him. He finally pawed it off and let it alone after that.

I'm not a fan of crawfish- ALL my friends love them so we go to crawfish boils all the time.

I'd prefer to eat them, than find them in the pool!

I've been to several too and my husband likes them. I can't watch though. I'd rather find them in my pool (and I hope I don't live to regret those words!).

On another note: Woo hoo! I figured out how to do multiple quotes!

Sunbaby, I LOVE your pool! Could you answer a couple questions for me? My PB initially suggested a flush spa and the rocks going along the whole back wall including the side of the spa but I changed it because I wasn't sure if flush would be hard to get in or how the rocks would feel on your head when you're in the spa.
1. Is it hard to get in to the flush spa? Do you get a lot of debris entering the spa due to it? Was there a particular reason you chose flush over elevated?
2. How do the rocks feel as you lean against them in the spa? We changed our design to have the rocks stop at the start of the pool and it's just flagstone lining the spa.
3. I am also contemplating adding the umbrella holes (forget what they are called). When there is no piping inside is there a cap that makes it flush so that you don't bump your foot on anything?

We dig tomorrow and my PB is literally going to kill me if I make changes but hey, it's my money to spend and we have to do it right!

I can't answer the spa questions but I have an umbrella sleeve in my tanning ledge. They are PVC and have a cap. They are near flush and you don't have to worry about your foot if it is done right.

You can see it in this photo. It is capped.

Hi Kelly! Thank you so much! We really do love our pool.
1 - our PB did something very different for us - he put steps down into the spa - so my hubby (who has MS) could get in and out easier. I will find a pic and post it. (I ABSOLUTELY Love this feature - everyone who sees it says they love it too.) For the debris - the waterfall comes up around the entire spa - so it is almost more of recessed than flush - so we don't get anything blowing in - but we have SO many trees that things are always "falling" in it. We were going to go with raised originally due to it being easier to get in and out for the hubby - MY PB, the day of the dig, was out and walking through everything with us - he said he didn't like a raised spa with the waterfall - he said it would look like the rocks were sitting on top instead of it built in. We explained the MS and balance issues - he erased the paint with his foot and drew out the steps. We loved it and never looked back!
2 - the rocks he used - they put smoother sides - I don't mind the rocks - but since the waterfall goes high - I think it is definitely different than most spas. It is hard to explain - but when you are sitting in there - the waterfall really towers over you.
3 - The umbrella holes - I can't even feel them - no stumped toes or anything! I have caps for them - but haven't ever put them on - LOVE the umbrella holders - we have them on the tanning ledge and a few place along the side of the pool.

MY PB changed ours from raised to flush with steps the morning of the dig!

Thanks so much! That certainly helps. The original plan we had included a flush spa to make the pool look bigger but then we changed it to raised so that we could use it for sitting things on/seating etc. But I still really like the way the flush looks so I can't decide! I have attached the two choices, what are your thoughts? They called to say we are being pushed up from Thursday to tomorrow and I am losing my mind!

Seriously love them BOTH!!! Hard decision if you're paying a lot for rocks I'd go with flush. It just looks so decadent - maybe you can bring the rocks around a little to use for seating?

I love the idea of extra seating & ease if getting in and out.

Would it help if I told you in a year you're going to love it no matter what?!?! True story

I do try to keep it pool related - but my dogs are so darn cute! She did this for a half hour before I finally had to make her get down so I could go in. Such a little brat!

So cute! I like to see the dogs. People are probably sick of seeing my kids and other stuff on my thread. [emoji16] Post what you want!

Goats are so cute! We get raw milk from a farm and they used to have some baby goats we could feed. I used to love that. Then they got big and they moved them to a bigger property. I miss seeing them. They used to run to the gate like little puppies when they'd see us.

Life has been more difficult than normal lately so instead of cleaning and cooking like a crazy person for Easter, my hubby and I hung out & watched movies. During one of his naps, I sat outside, caught up on 3 months worth of magazines and just enjoyed my pool.

Happy Easter my friends.
