New Pool build Baytown Tx

Look at that awesome grotto!! I don't know that I've seen one this size. It is all coming together so nicely!

Grotto is complete. Finished up plumbing today. Electrical was supposed to show up today as well but they were a no show. Decking should start later this week or early next week. Plumbers cut thru my internet cable digging trenches for the pvc piping so I cannot get online at the house until I can get it repaired. I will post up new pics when I get my internet fixed.

Updated pics. Started to rain when the deck crew was scheduled to start on the stamped concrete forms. So I guess it will be delayed until next week.

WOW!!!!! I love it! The grotto looks awesome! The seat inside shows how just how big it is. Can't wait to see it finished!

Very cool looking.

Did you include a cooler for the electric meter dial, it will be spinning fast if all 5 pumps are running ;)

Posted from my Droid with Tapatalk ... sorry if my response is short ;)

I paid for diamond brite plaster verde color. The PB used quartz scapes verde color instead I was initially dissapointed until I talked to the plaster guy and he said it had a 10yr warranty and was the same as diamond brite and he could deal directly with the manufacturer in Houston instead on dealing with a sales rep for Diamond brite and then have to deal with the company in Florida. I said ok lets do it and it turned out a color better than what we had a Diamond brite sample of. We wanted to do something different than all the blue water pools we see and I think I turned out great. When the sun peaked out today I thought I was in the south pacific and thats the look we wanted. So far we love it. Well see how it looks after we brush it to see what it really looks like. I tried to get a night picture of all the tiles in the water in the spa and the pool to show how cool they look. Every tile you see in the bottom of the pool and spa are glow in the dark tiles and they look freaking amazing at night. I wish I could get a picture to show everyone and I tried but my I-phone will not pick up the color at night. The PB and plaster guy thought I was crazy when I had these tiles put all over the bottom of the pool and spa and my only complaint is I wish I would have put more they are simply amazing. They are so brite they light up the pool at night without any other light. I love it. Now waiting for the electrician to finish to see what everything looks light with pump power and the regular led pool lights.

So far we are very impressed with the look of the pool but honestly I could not recommend my pool builder. I feel like I built this pool myself with all the attention of detail I had to do myself when my PB was nowhere to be found although I probably have a case of OCD when it comes to details. If I had not been home when the plaster was being done NONE of my glow in the dark tiles would have been put in the pool or spa and there were several other occasions where I had to "instruct" the people working on what needed to be done and would not have been done the way I wanted if I was not there (luckily I have a job where I can take off whenever I want to). My PB kept complaining how he was not making any money on my pool build and I had to tell him on a few occasions I was not the one to say they could build it for what he did. He agreed to build my pool for 65k which was 2k less than the lowest pool bid I had and his initial bid was 134k for a little larger pool than we wanted. My total cost for this pool is around 75k which I think is a good deal and that included the plapa and 9'x16' outdoor theater screen frame. We are supposed to have a party Sunday night with a movie by the pool I will try to include pics of that as well as I have not said anything about the outdoor theater since this was a pool forum. Overall I'm very happy just dissapointed in my PB's attention to detail and the length of time it took to complete my pool build. There were several weeks of good weather when nothing at all was being done.
