New Pentair Intelliflo VS - Pressure warning light on heater

I just had a 3 HP Intelliflo VS 011028 installed and connected to my Jandy iAqualink. I also had a FlowVis meter installed between the pump and the filter. I have 2" plumbing and at 1850 RPM I am seeing about 48 GPM on the FlowVis. But I also notice my pressure warning light blinking on the heater (which is not turned on). Can I ignore that warning while the heater is off?

S,

As long as you don't want the heater to run, you can run your pump at any speed you want... It won't hurt a thing.

It really matters little what the Flow Vis says, it only matters at what speed the heater will actually turn on.. (When you want to turn on the heat)..

Thanks,

Jim R.

What heater do you have?

What is the filter pressure?

When is the last time you cleaned the filter?

The heater is Jandy/Laars LT400N-LB, mfg in 6/2004.

Filter pressure is 5.5 psi.

Before I removed my Northstar 1.5 SS pump, the filter was about 10 psi higher at 3450 RPM. Filter is due for a backwash this weekend.

I seem to be getting good flow at the skimmers I sure love how quiet the Intelliflo is at 1850 RPM.

Great - thank you. We only use the heat for the spa and the spa is programmed to run at a higher speed so that should be fine.
