New Northeastern Pa Build

Lol ya why? I have indoor plumbing. I’ll shower. Lol.

Ya tomorrow is deffiently going to be a messy day. It’s wet out there but not frozen. That’s what matter. Lol

I like how the wood came out. It was face cut vs ribbon cut. I’m not nuts about ribbon cut but I do like it. My cabinets outcthere r ribbon cut but for the ceiling I figured face cut. Who will be staring up there and it saved me like 25 cents per foot which adds up quick cause it’s already expensive and there is a lot there. I would never have been able to afford it even if Dave didn’t get it for me. It cost me what tongue and groove pine costs retail. There is still a lot of darker boards so it will still have that light dark look like u get with ribbon cut.

I am the same Kim. But. My wife is working a few hours tomorrow morning so I can’t ask my dad to come down to watch the kids at 530 while I go down Dave’s to stack wood before Louis comes at 7 sooooo I got to go dirty first tomorrow then shower and get my wood and of course shower again afterwards cause I’m sure I’ll be all dirty again. You step 1 foot in his shop and you get dirty cause of all the saw dust. It’s everywhere. It’s in the toilet in the bathroom even. Lol I can’t get over how it finds it’s why from room to room. Only clean rooms in the place r the spray booths thankfully. Lol

Ok all done. All I need to do is backfill our trenches and I need 1 more fitting to tie it all into my old lines. Worked out well. My waste line is tied in for backwashing also. That’s what I’m most excited about. It’s the simple things. Lol

My grade should be ok. Final grade is right at top of the schedule 40 pipe. And then rock on top of that or mulch. Don’t know yet. 8B49F660-FD7D-42E6-BDAA-B452A29A73E1.jpeg41ED2035-DAEC-4E09-A0E3-E7243B62A03C.jpeg0DD58B5D-C491-4560-B004-8C78B5789487.jpeg4856FBCA-7C22-442C-BD18-F9AD3420EF41.jpegABA1D71C-04B6-4A23-BCB2-396B692E8C78.jpeg We anchored them to the brick until I get my topsoil in there. Then I’ll cut off the tops of those hooks so u don’t see them.

Got my wood all setup. Sized and marked which has been acclimating so we use that first. I hope we have enough. Our numbers are exactly 200 feet over what we needed.

Got all the rest of the trim for the beams piled up too so there is room to work out there.

You will take your dirt/grass that high? That is going to be a lot of dirt!!!

That wood looks awesome!!!

One of my summer jobs this summer will be to dig a trench from the filter to the pond. I will then do a run of PVC in it. That way NO MORE HOSE!!!! I SO understand how excited you are that your filter is tied into the pipe!!!!

Yup all topsoil. My whole yard is about 16 inches of topsoil. Prob why my plants and grass do so well. Gives me a ton of surface area to hold moisture for the grass and plants and nice and easy for roots to dig deep. That’s how my dad said my grandfather liked to do it.

Have fun digging that trench. I really hope my trench days are over now. Lol

I can’t wait to not have to worry about keeping that stupid hose out to the woods now!

so what is up with me. . .

i'm opening friday. nights are going to be in 40's now except a random night here and there. i opened 3 weeks later last year but i don't want to run into easter and my builder being down his kid's house so figured now better than later. plus i run my pump 24/7 anyway so i'll jack the sped up for a month and i'll be way more than safe.

i'm waiting on my buddy for the ceiling. he is on another job now cause my other buddy said he would hold off on putting the wood up yet till it expands a bit being out vs his shop so he messed us up! i know better to be safe than sorry but i just want this over already. lol

i'm also waiting on my plumber who is my dad's buddy to tie in my basement and get my final gas line run and tie in my new grill.

then it's literally toilet and sink for bathroom and granite for kitchen.

then the rest is on me. . . paint and when i have more money landscaping. this is been so typical me. . . drawn waaaaay out but at least i am showing no debt. that was my biggest requirement. we totally don't need any of this so i just didn't want to back myself into a corner for what i feel is a luxury.

it's been a great learning experience. i learned so much over these few years. i have to send out help texts to all the guys way way less than i used to.

so this weekend i will be back in brushing mode and chemical mode. i got my new box setup and i got a new ph probe. hopefully this one works. then i'll peer pressure cliff into buying another one. lol

@ctrav you listening?!

My wife doesn't even want to hear that word! Lol

thanks for the tip! I did not know that. I don't do any social media so I'm not very good with the whole @ and # thingies.

Thanks for following! This has and is the best site I have ever taken part in. It's like a home away from home. Lol

Well rained all day. No opening today. Pool is filled to 1 inch below tile. We better open tomorrow cause I really don’t want water on my tile if not open. Suppose to be clean all day tomorrow. I was down my builders shop. I tried talking the guys into coming but they weren’t budging. Lol. I said, seriously. A little rain boys? Lol

So tomorrow at 9.

On a side note I tested my full water ph. I never bothered doing it. I have done ta and ch but not ph. It’s 9.1. Isn’t that like super bad high? We don’t drink our tap water but seems high. My ya is 50-60. Ch is like 50 only.

I have a new digital probe that I just calibrated. And I know it’s accurate cause I tested 2 different buffer solutions first. 7.0 and 4.0. Then did the tap water.

I checked it against the test u use and it was wicked dark purple off the chart.

Well that IS the highest pH I have seen BUT most tests stop at 8.2 so who knows what others have when they start fighting it. There have been some that had to really get aggressive to get their pH into the 7s so.............

Thanks Kim. Not bad if I do say. We r open! I’m brushing. All cleaned though. Guys r gone. No drama. All working. Filter deep cleaned. Once my water level gets back up skimmers I’ll test. I threw in 80 oz of chlorine cause I know I’m 4 or lower at least. Water is 44.
