Lol. Come on! The door gets installed from behind and then the sheeting gets cut so it isn’t pieces together. Ya they could have waiting to put that piece on after the door but they didn’t want it sitting on the ground if it rained. Lol. The doorway headers r higher than the door cause we don’t know the exact jam length needed cause of the pavers. So the header takes the load. Door gets installed. Wood is filled inbetween door and header and the sheeting is cut so it isn’t pieces in.
Now ow I know the jam height cause I have the pavers here. Problem is I want to slip under the jam so I avoid cutting the paver. Easier for me. Jim wants to sit his jam down and I cut around him. Easier for him. Lol. The typical one trade trying to get the easy fix over the other trade. Lol.
Hence higher header cause we use we still haven’t come to an agreement. Who am I kidding though. He is always right so I will be cutting the paver to go Around his jam. Lol
either way the doorway will be the proper height as I told me wife. So Kim. Don’t worry the door will be regular height as I told the wife. Lol
jim
ps and it better not rain tomorrow! We r on a roll.
Pss I just looked at Brian’s backyard Reno and my backyard looks like a junkyard compared to his. This is never going to be done. Our town inspector stopped by to see us today and he was making fun of my easytpuch panel and how it is 1 foot from the pool house wall facing it. He said so how u getting in there. I said ya I know I know. It’s getting moved inside.
See having never done anything like that before I had no idea so................call it a "girl question" as I do when asking something like this. If I don't ask I will not learn. I endure many rolled eyes and sighs along the way but I learn!!! Thanks for the answer!
ok crazy question of the day. what is floating in my water. it's on the surface. looks clear to white. like snowflakes almost. . . that isn't algae is it?
Ok I was thinking that but of course I was thinking algae. Nothing is blooming here yet though.
Im a basket case aren’t I. Pool is almost filled. My builder wanted the water up tonight so they could vac to waste tomorrow and still be close to where it needs to be so we can start circulating with the skimmers right off the bat. I got like 3 inches to go.
Trying to cleanup the back back yard a bit. My yard looks worse now than it did when we did the pool. The pool house is more of a mess I think.
Ok tomorrow I want to get on the PH first since I closed with it climbing still. I used to drop it down to 7.2 all summer as the pool was curing but lets hope we are cured. should i still pull it all the way down to 7.2 or should i start to maintain it a bit higher. doesn't the ph tend not to rise as much if you don't swing it as much or drop it too much each time? so keep it in the 7.5-7.7 range?
was just wondering opinions from the pros.
everything else i'm not worried about as much. my plan was to get on the ph as soon as we fire it up and get going and then brush away and then figure out my cya and other levels and take it from there.
pH and TA work hand and hand. If you plaster is through curing aka causing the pH to rise then you will work on getting your pH stable by finding the TA it likes the best. You do this by close monitoring. See what your TA is at.If it is within range let it ride. Get the pH in the middle of the range. See how long it stays there. If only a day or three then we will look at adjusting your TA. Each pool is SO different so it might take some tweaking to find YOUR pool's sweet spot.
I wonder if that stuff is saw dust?
LOL on Jim not remembering what was said in Oct. If he is anything like me (and I think he is poor thing) he would have a hard time remembering what he had for breakfast! Jim you ask anything you want!
Kim. I was thinking the stuff was maybe sawdust also. Would it go through the mesh cover I wonder? The cover does have a lot of saw dust on it. I’m going to vac the pool everyday I think. Lol
so deff not algae. Algae wouldn’t present like that?
i got ya on the ta. That number is going to be laughable tomorrow I bet. I’m going to say it’s in the toilet at like 30 or lower.
Kim. I can’t remember anything anymore. I have to write everything down. I have to organize all my notes from last year. I have stuff written everywhere.
I totally forgot about rhat thread. Lol
thanks kim. I’ll post my test results as soon as they vac the pool and we see where our water level is to see if I have to add water. I’m going to bring the water up real high so once they vac to waste it will be almost to where it should be.
It only takes a very small amount of pollen to clump like that. It comes from trees leafing out and blooming which is hard to really see on “non-flowering” trees.
Or sawdust. Compare it to what you see during higher pollen time and you’ll know at that point. Regardless it’s harmless.
