Never had a rust problem toping off the pool with the well water over the last year when we had leak in the old liner.
The Iron Master speaks...Rust doesn’t “move” a lot it just sorta hovers.
The Iron Master speaks...
Socks on your hose, while it sounds good in theory, won’t do you any good until the iron in the water oxidizes in the chlorine. That’s been my struggle with my fill water. My fill is heavily ironized and I still can’t filter it until it cycles the pool with chlorine. Stupid chemistry. No cloud of any sorts just looks like the lights have been turned out in the deep end. The foot of water in the shallow end is crystal clear right now. I tried to just get a pic but there are fluffy clouds in the sky right now and reflection is to much to see anything about the waterOur pool when full is 3' in the shallow end and 9.5' in the deep end. I current have 3 socks over the hose end to see if it collects any rust. I'll know more tomorrow on that front.
So I need to add Chlorine?Socks on your hose, while it sounds good in theory, won’t do you any good until the iron in the water oxidizes in the chlorine. That’s been my struggle with my fill water. See post #16 above for an option to start your polyfill filtering now.I also am not running through my sand filter yet. Still need a just over 2' of water added which will take another 24hrs of water. I'm only running the well for about 10-12 hours a day to make sure we don't run out. According the county we are on one of the deepest aquifers in the county so we shouldn't have any issue with running out. Especially with the rain we've had this year in the PNW.
