I can't seem to pass overnight test. Water is beautiful. I have zero CC and have failed test 3 nights in a row. First two I lost 1.5 and today I lost 2 anything I am doing wrong?? I have kept pool at 15 FC or higher.
Keep brushing, and look for algae in nooks and crannys....ladders, lights, skimmers, etc.

:I am maintaining shock level and I know I should ignore pH during this process but I have pretty bad scaling on walls so I lowered pH yesterday. It was 7.2 at 8 pm last night and at 12 toda it was already 8 again. What is causing my pH to shoot up so fast?
At high FC levels, the pH test will read high. That 8.0 is most likely inaccurate. Ignore it until you're done shocking.
I lowered my pH and the scale on the walls is actually starting to fall off. Still bad but it's gathering on the pool floor!
Sounds very normal. At 30ppm, it would not be surprising to lose 50% of your FC in a hot sunny day.
Wow. That makes me nervous. Hope u can stay in top of it without feeling like I need to test every 5 minutes. Water is beautiful zero CC but just can't pass overnight test. Need a little POP I guess. :-D
You have checked the ladder and so on, haven't you? Algae can hide inside the legs and beneath steps.
Did you pull the light? Seems like I read about huge green messes behind the light. Do you have on? Inside the skimmer mouth seems to be another very popular place for green to hang out.

No light in pool. I scrub and scrub. I almost pass but don't. It's been a month now but what I didn't know is I was working with a bad pump that was dying. I replace the pump and water cleared in 3 days. Just can't seem to get totall over the hump.
It's a long shot, but there was someone else recently who couldn't pass the CC test for weeks. Turns out he had algae growing in his sample bottle!passionsrlz said:
