How do you release pressure? When I first installed it the gauge was in the green at .5psi I came home and turned it on so that pump can pump at night instead of the day. Well the pressure was in the green still but it was more then .5 should i be worried? if i need to release pressure how do i do that? Also this is my first time owning a sand pump filter. Do I do the same testing and chemicals the same as I was doing it before with a cartridge filter?

When the pressure rises 25% over clean pressure you need to backwash.

Most vac hoses should hook to the inlet with an attachment like this

I have this one. Hope it Works. Now what position should the sand filter be in when i vacuum

If u want to filter dirt & water u vac then - filter
If its really nasty & you don’t mind wasting the water- waste(water will come out of the discharge port)
You must turn pump off to change positions

thanks. It wasnt that nasty but i used it on waste. Next time if its not that dirty then i wont use waste just simple filter. THANKS again. This site is awesome
