Hi - I have a new Intelliflo VS 011028 and just cleaned out the pump basket for the first time. When I went to tighten the lid, the handles won't turn all the way to fully locked. I removed the lid, and lubricated the lid O-ring with Jack's Lube and tried again. It still stops about 3/8" short of being fully closed. Is this a concern? I don't appear to be leaking air but I'm pretty sure the installer had the lid fully closed. After dealing with this on and off with my old Northstar pump, I was hoping Pentair would just work the way they are supposed to. Thanks!

You do not need to get the little marks to line up. Tighten hand tight and if that is sufficient, stop there. If a tap of a rubber mallet is necessary, do that. But only tighten as much as necessary. Makes it easier to get it off the next time!

The tabs do not rotate so that they are 90 degrees to the input pipe.. The tabs point roughly at 2 and 7 on a clock face..

Why is it stopping short? If it's because the tabs are hitting the pipe, you have to reorient the lid such that the tabs have plenty of clearance from the pipe.
