I was having issues with my Intellichlor IC40. The cell light was flashing green which they say means a dirty cell. I tried cleaning it several times to no avail. It was 5 yrs old and installed on Ohio pool. It only gets used 6 months out of the year if that. I thought it would last longer than that. Anyway I just bought a new one. I have it installed and now that cell light on the new one will come on for about 5 minutes and then go off a few minutes and back on repeating that process. Is that normal? I don’t recall that happening with the previous unit but I was also oblivious to a lot of stuff because of poor education from my pool installer. Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts.

Yep now that I am digging into the book this is normal. I had it at 60%. Once I cranked it to 100% it stayed solid. Now let’s hope I can maintain my FC levels! Going to start at 40% and see how it goes. Thanks everyone!

S,

I don't have a fancy chart...

But at 50% the cell light will be on for about 2.5 minutes and then off for 2.5 minutes.. If your cell is doing this, it is working just like it should.

The cell is either making chlorine or it is not making chlorine.. The output % does not adjust the amount of chlorine the cell makes when on... It just adjust the amount of time the cell is on or off.. When the cell light is green, it means the cell is making chlorine at that moment..

Thanks,
