New House and First Pool

Hi all, this is my first post but I have been lurking in the background for a while. My name is Randy, we are in the process of building our retirement house in Corpus Christi and have added a pool to the project. This will be our first pool. We are presently in the Austin area and hope to make the move in late summer/early fall.

The pool will be 18’ x 34’ rectangle 3.5’-7’ deep with a 36” sheer descent at the deep end. Hayward component’s with a SWG (40k), VS pump, automation and a cartridge filter.

I’ve enjoyed reading the TFP pool school and watching the videos. Well done!

I’m thinking I should have started this thread in the construction folder.

Our build site is all sand and we have a shallow water table at 5’ so the PB placed well points around the site and pumped for almost a month. All the pumping paid off and they were able to reach the 7 foot desired depth.

As of this week the pool has been dug and they shot gunite this week. Now we wait on the house build to progress, it is about dried in now.

I got a chance to go down and check out the house build this week. Things are moving slowly but they are making progress. We are still waiting on windows that were ordered last October.

Wow it has been almost a year! Today is the day we get plaster.
