New Hot Tub

I bought a new 350 gallon hot tub about a month ago. It gets used every day for about 30 minutes with two adults. I am using Bromo tabs per spa dealer due to having an ozone generator. I am keeping my levels in range using the TF-100 kit. Just wondering since I am using Bromo tabs it keeps dropping my TA down to 60 over time (since it’s an acid). And my PH keeps rising up to 8.2 over time due to jets. So constantly having to raise TA and lower PH. Is this a common issue that is never ending?

Thanks,
Robert

If your PH rises too high, that means TA is also too high. If your PH drops too low, that mean your TA is too low.

My advice is to pay less attention to TA readings, and consider PH to be the relevant measurement. Find witch way PH drifts without correction, and then correct it just enough to stay in range. It sounds like you are over correcting with buffer.

I've never used the bromo tabs, but if you read the bromine sticky post, you'll see that you can use bleach to raise sanitation levels, and then utilize the tabs to maintain sanitation levels in between testing events. Bleach is very close to PH neutral, however it does slightly raise PH/TA that will will accumulate, and show on a PH test kit after 10-20 days in my experience.

It is not a "Trouble Free Method" to simply ignore TA, and stop testing for it, but that's what I do. I haven't run a TA test in years. I don't see why I should care about it if PH is in range.
