Re: New Homeowner - Green Pool [shock process: day 3.7]
cya started around 20 and as of yesterday in full sun the cya test confirmed that.
I don't currently have a way to increase cya unless I add my trichlor tablets which also contain copper, and I won't have an opportunity to get cyanuric acid until this weekend.
I can shoot for a shock level of 12 and go back to hourly testing to make sure i don't drop below shock level - but is the shock process really going to be affected that much if fc drops 2 or 3 ppm below shock level?
I may be misunderstanding something but isn't fc doing its job whether it's at 8 or 11, or is it the cya keeping it from working/slowing it down too much if I'm not at shock level for my cya?
As for the previous owners maintenance methods - I saw no indication of baqua chemicals, just cal hypo, dichlor, and trichlor.
