I feel fortunate to have found this forum! After browsing through the postings and seeing some of the great feedback I felt compelled to ask for advice for my family. We have just closed on a semi-custom home from a builder that was planning on installing a pool. We met with the builder he was planning on using and have starting discussing our own ideas for what we would like. We basically want a rectangular pool and were contemplating the infinity edge as well as a zero perimeter as this was a great look and the pool will serve as not only a functional escape from the North State heat, but also as an aesthetic centerpiece to the backyard. The builder argued against a spa, but we have asked for one to be included, but now we are backpedaling from that idea after reading some of the posts on the forum.
The builder recommended the UV/Ozone sanitation system which I get the sense most people are against. Also Jandy pumps.
The pool is 30 x 21 ft (576 sqft) 15,335 gallons.
The total with infinity edge, zero edge and no spa was $135,000. I am wondering if I should be cutting out the infinity edge and keep the zero edge and use the money saved to invest where it counts more. Any advice is appreciated and I am happy to provide more specific info if needed.
Thanks!
