NEW Gunite IG pool - West Texas

We're considering working on the flower bed that is next to the house. Think that's a bad idea?

We're both growing tired of having a construction zone in the backyard...and we saw some plants that we liked yesterday @ Lowes.

As long as they won't tromp on them, go for it. We just have not been able to get inspired with them still tromping around.

We are SO ready to have them OUT and GONE!!

yeah, I'm not convinced they won't tromp, but I'm thinking with plants in the way that will decrease the likelihood of serious tromping.

I sliced my finger open yesterday taking the forms off my shed slab, so that's gonna keep me from doing too much with my dominant hand.

I waited months to do planting because of the stupid scupper issue! I had the beds ready and put some mulch in to hold the soil, bought the plants and kept them watered in the pots, just itching to get them in the ground but I knew as soon as I planted them they would tell me the wall would have to come down. I can tell you they pretty much flattened the soil and most of the mulch ended up everywhere but the beds. Finally redid everything and got them in last week, anyone gets near my plants they get pushed into the pool! Lol

some wicked winds kept me out of the flower beds, blew down the "temp fence" twice, and assisted me in placing a ~2lb sledge into my hand.(how stupid does a person have to be to injure both hands in one weekend?) Thanks for the advice, I'll heed it for now, until I can't control it any longer.

Yesterday was awful. Lets hope today is better (and the PB workers show up).

I'd definitely wait to put out anything you want to keep. It's shocking how the crews care so little for personal property and damage things you wouldn't even think they would need/want to get close to! When we were on our extended delay last week, I thought it'd be safe to put my little tomato seedlings (planted back in February and nursed along) under a patio lounger for a little morning sun and then they'd be in shade til I got home from work to keep an eye on them from getting sunburned. Came home to a surprise visit from PB crew and they had managed to coat everything (leaves, planters, plus lounger and cushion) in a thick coat of gritty plaster grime from power washing. Ridiculous!

oh wow. Note taken. That's a massive downer, but I do appreciate the warning.

Here's 4/29/14's work

Yeah, the builder finds himself to be artistic. LOL...and he enjoys screwing with us.

Anywho, they are there today working again (the PB and one helper). He is evening the sides of the spa. one had 6 tiles while the other had 5...so he's making those match @ 6 each. (thankfully he's caught on that things like this drive my wife crazy). Luckily he spent all afternoon at my house yesterday (1-7p). I'm hoping to get at least 6 hrs of work out of him today....He's finished the evening out with concrete, and appears to have left to let that dry. Even though this project is taking forever, I'm still pleased with him. I'm just very very tired of the project.

Well here's 4/30/14's progress. He built up the walls to make them match, and he started working on the spillover "steps"

5/1/14 progress -spa waterline tile. It was impossible to tile it without cut tiles. So he centered the cut tiles to make it symmetrical.

Today's progress. This has been basically the work of one man. His helper is mixing stuff and making some cuts. But this is all the pool builder himself. He is working to make sure we are happy the first time.

My margaritaville machine (DM1000) came in. So after a nice scrub down I decided to make a strawberry margarita. I used a pre made mix that already has gold Jose Cuervo in it. Tomorrow I'll buy some liquor and do it the way they suggest. Anyway. I'm thrilled with the machine.

You and WoodyP are going to be great friends. I think he even makes his breakfast with his machines.

You know that sounds like a good idea. I may have to try that. I was sad when I heard you can't put frozen strawberries in the ice part. Lol. I guess I could leave the alcohol out for Brkfst. Or maybe not. Lol
