I’m in the process of filling my pool. The liner was replaced yesterday. I will be using sta-rite pld50 de filter and not sure if I add DE now or when the pool is balanced.
Also I have the kit but forgot how I am supposed to add stuff to balance pool. I couldn’t find in pool school the order to balance things

You should not run a DE filter without DE for more than the few minutes it takes you to add DE. If you do it will clog the grids and the only way to clean it will be to open it up.

Don't forget that the very bottom of the poolmath calculator contains the calculator to see the individual effects of adding ingredients of your choosing.

I always try and start out with 1/2 to 2/3 of the calculated chemicals needing to be added and then retest and refine to top off to what you need to achieve, that is when the top number adjustments come in very handy. Just don't forget that you can change the ingredient you are using in most of the drop down menus. Also make sure all your numbers are input, as the effects depend on what the various levels are present in your pool.
