We had our pool resurfaced last month with DB superblue. after the pool was filled and water was balanced I noticed immediate discoloration. Brushed next 3 weeks and balanced water and not going away. Lines and marks everywhere. I finally went in pool New Years and it was so uneven, surface looked like a wave pool when light was turned on. I contacted Owner who said it was the product and said the waviness was normal. There are pits and marks all over. I looked back at prep photo and they never patched any of the hollow spots, there were like 20. Very disappointed. Welcome to TFP.

You really can not judge a pools finish at night under the lights. Most plaster does not look perfect.

Your pool looks like an average job. It has some mottling and uneven troweling issues. Plaster is a hand mixed and hand applied finish that has variations day to day and crew to crew. Some crews are better at smoothing the plaster then others.

Stand back in the daylight and enjoy the way your new pool surface looks. No one is going to be examining it closely like you are.

It’s hard to enjoy, the floor of the pool is so uneven, you can feel it with each step. The installer and the another crew member came back and both said it look bad and tried to blame it on diamondbrite. Even with the prep they didn’t patch any of the hollow

Either they admit it is bad enough to chip out and redo or you live with it. No way to fix it.

How about the fact that they didn’t patch all the hollows. Is that what is making the floors and walls ,so uneven. There were over 20 large hollow spots.

That is why we recommend full chipouts.

Plaster does not flex. If plaster flexes it cracks. Hollows do not cause unevenness, They can smooth a new layer over any old plaster, hollow or not.

Sorry, I meant they chipped out the hollow spots, but they didn’t patch them prior to apply diamond brite

The plaster is the patch over any chipped out areas. They were just sloppy smoothing the plaster.
