New construction in Dallas TX

:goodjob: Don't you just love the helpful people here?

It's nice that people notice little things so we can ask our PB.. I'm so grateful for that, as I have never built a pool from scratch either!

Thanks MoreSparkle! I am very glad I took that close up pic!

I think the pool builder is having it out with the city...no progress on the pool, nothing schedule either.

Maybe he'll call you this afternoon with an update..?? If not, call him.

I've got an issue with my spa pump, so don't feel like the lone ranger. My PB said he is ordering a new one - not to worry. But......... I do.

Man, I am tired of waiting! We don't have the tile quite finished, getting close. I got an email that they plan on frame the deck this Saturday. I will update with pics soon!!

School has started and I am putting in some long days keeping up with son in his new job and my daughter's school activities!

 ARVVEN!!! Woo-Hoo!!!!

It's looking GREAT!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see the progress!!!! It will go fast now. Love the stonework so far!

Getting close!! All stonework is done, deck is framed and inspection passed (1st try..hahaha). Here's some pics, I couldn't get the wide angle pic at this time of day because the sun is too bright.

 YEAH!!!! It's looking really great!!! Congratulations on the inspection!
Some inspectors are really difficult to work with, most aren't... but there are a few I've been toe to toe with over the silliest things.

OK, SOME progress..The city approvals are in and we are ready to go..ironically? The lines need to be remarked before they will let the big trucks in...lol

Confirmed today that I can't cancel my travel for work next week..I am going to hang some teenagers if they don't send me pics :)

I’m amazed how 2 city’s so close to together can have such different requirements building a pool.

I bleed red dirt as a born and raised Texan, but I have never liked the hurdles the city of Dallas makes their residents jump over for some of the most simplistic task.

Again, I’m looking forward to your progress pictures because your design is absolutely beautiful.

If you want a real nightmare, move to Wylie, Texas! We're required to have an engineering report and professionally drawn up plans just to put up a carport! And even though we own an acre, we can only have two buildings on it. And since we already built my husband's workshop and the lawn equipment shed, that means NO little building out by the pool, unless we want to get rid of one of the existing buildings!

That is crazy!! I guess folks have to be very creative with building placement to maximize their function. Like a workshop close enough to the pool to divide it and have part serve as pool house, etc

Already working on that thought, Bluegrassman! :p

I work for the City of Dallas in their IT department, I can tell you what is wrong, most of the inspectors are stupid. I deal with them first hand and some are good, but most are idiots, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Seriously. Nice folks but dumber than a sack of hammers.
