Hi all, after going through what seemed like 50 builders in the Central Florida area we've settled on one. They came recommended by a neighbor who is currently building and also had a relative of theirs who built with them and have been very happy so far. Attached is the specs of the pool, please let me know if I am over looking anything and if there's something I should consider changing.

TIA

Looks good to me. I did my pool the same depth, with the exception of only doing 5' deep.

Mind sharing how much they quoted you?

Not at all, I was able to work the quote down to $67k. I had multiple companies quote me and most were in the lower 70s no that much more. This company was willing to work with me on pricing and on top of that they are building a neighbor's pool so I was able to go out and see their work which made it an easy choice.

That looks very similar to my pool! Pricing seems to be inline with our pool since you are getting more extras than we did (heater, travertine).

You may want to have 4 pool returns (one in each corner for better circulation).

Get an auto-fill and overflow drain.

I am not sure where the 3 lights are. Are there 2 on the sun shelf and 1 in the pool? I would get at least 2 in the pool if they are the mini-LEDs. Have them face away from the house.

Good luck!

Thank you for your input. We have 4 returns priced already and there are 3 pool lights with all 3 in the main pool and 2 LED bubbles to serve as the "lights" for the tanning shelf.

Pulled the trigger with a PB and selected our colors. We ended up with Stone Scape tropics blue mini pebble for the plaster. The mosaic glass tile for the waterline and the 1x1 glass tile to be used as line tile for the steps and tanning ledge. Hi --- Did you ever find pictures of the Tropics Blue? We are doing a remodel and are considering Tropics Blue, Tahoe Blue or aqua blue. Any info would be appreciated.
Good luck on your build
Hey there, no not really. I just searched online but honestly, each picture varies so much based on the surroundings and lighting conditions. For us, we wanted a color that was blue, not Windex blue and thought Tropics Blue was that. It has mostly dark gray tones compared to the Tahoe Blue which does have some tan in it which will create a slight green tint.

Started construction the other day....... not sure if we'll have a pool anytime soon though.

This was the aftermath of moving an oak tree to the side of the house in preparation for hopefully dig day sometime in the near future.IMG_5547.jpeg

After a long period of waiting for permitting and the city giving the PB some issues we finally started and after a week this is what we have.

A question I have for the community is when should I start watering the shell? Gunite was just shot this morning and I want to get on doing what I need to do to make sure I have the best possible outcome.

I watered mine the night it was shot. I did it twice a day for about the first 2 weeks or so.

For what it's worth, the guys that did it said it wasn't very necessary due to how humid it is in South Florida. I did it anyway...better safe than sorry!

Gunite guy said once a day and I should be good. Since I'm working from home these days I can just pop out there for a few minutes a few times a day and just spray it down.
