New Build - Texas

Got my kit and tested my fill water with my helpers. I got my masters in chemistry so they are always eager to do chemistry with dad. It’s not my day job anymore but I might have to talk with our chemical supply guy at the plant to see if I can get some stuff in bulk (phenolphthalein, bleach, etc).

Are you on well water? Most of the time city water has some FC or CC in it.

You will need to some muratic acid for sure with that pH and TA but that is no biggie.

CUTE helpers you have there! Bet they will love help "mixing" the water up when you add chemicals and such to the pool......CANNON BALL!

Tile and coping done. Had to pump about 3ft of water out of the shell from Imelda.

Found out why the tiles were upside down above the skimmers. If they put them right side up the cut side of the porcelain tile would be exposed. It would leave a sharp edge that someone could cut themselves on. Decided to leave as is. I am the only person who will ever notice it.

I want everyone to look at the tile work on either side of the spa over flow. Look at the attention to detail there! Man that is nice!

Glad to hear there is a good reason for why they did the skimmer tile like they did. I knew it had to be for a good reason and that is as good as it gets!

Gunite cleaning and spray washing today. Hoping for plaster early next week but expecting to be delayed because of last weeks rain putting plaster company behind schedule.

Filling her up. Couldn’t track volume with water meter because it doesn’t have a gauge. Seems it’s an IOT type meter. Probably can look it up online.

13,800 gallons, that’s less than expected.

Similar to ours. We were "estimated" at 15.5k gallons, but filled right at 14k. I think the tanning ledge (similar in total size to yours, it would seem) isn't accounted for in the programs they use to build the design.
We were also stagnant for about 36 hours before starting everything up and giving the first dosing. So far, its been good, so I wouldn't stress too much over it.
