Adding construction plan. Please let me know if anything stands out that I need to ask about (i.e. return placements, skimmers, etc...). Thanks!Montgomery Construction Plan.png

So I see returns over by the pretty rock waterfalls. Are they just being called returns but really are waterfalls? Or are there "real" returns on that side?

I only see one skimmer over on the right side of the pool. I think a second one is needed but want to hear about the returns before we talk placement.

I do not know, but will ask. I believe two skimmers are shown, one on each end, but I will verify that also. There should be two skimmers. I am a little concerned there is not a return shown to the left of the tanning ledge and that would be a dead spot. Thoughts?

Okay I found the other skimmer. It is on the left side. I think I see a bench under it. THAT worries me big time (I AM a worry wort so......) the reason it worries me because it is suction as in it sucks water into it to put it through the filter. I worry about it getting some hair or a bathing suit or such into it if the pump is on. Now it should be evenly spread out over the other skimmer and the main drain so it should not be life threatening but my worry wort self just does not like it.

I agree with the lack of return on the left of the shelf as well. That could be a big dead spot for sure.

The skimmer location is fine. Entrapment really can't occur with a skimmer unless the pump basket is missing and even then it would be a very long shot (if at all possible). The water velocity is very low until you get to the actual port at the bottom of the skimmer which is 12-18" below the water on the opposite side of the weir.

It doesn't look like any of those arrows are returns. They show the water flow direction of the water features. You'll need to have the plan revised if you are particular about your return placement.

What will be the depth in front of the waterfall, and would anyone ever jump off of it (you know they will).

I would be concerned about someone jumping off of that into ~5 feet deep water and would try and make that area 6' as well.

Oh I like those!! I REALLY like the bigger one with the sizes and orientations! Now start thinking about what color grout you want to use. White will make each tile stand out where gray will help them blend in with each other. I don't think white will look as good with that tile in this case.
