New Build in West Houston Area - PB

That 4m27 Start Through Gunite video is awesome, special thanks for that & thanks for awesome documentation throughout, as well as joining as silver!

Curiosities so far (answers not required):
-Depending on daily FC consumption, I'm guessing a potential daily sanitizer addition need of 1.3 gallons (2ppm/[email protected]%) to 3.8 gallons (4ppm/[email protected]%), potentially higher after the break in period is complete and you'll finally be able to have a bather load - assuming a stock up trip every two weeks of between 18.2 and 53.2 gallons. Perhaps, at this buying volume, you can negotiate for the pool service company discounted rate! No clue about the MA assumptions, but again, many gallons ask where PB gets it maybe since if they do acid start they'll be using like 28 gallons at once lol.
-After they finish the break in period, are you using a pool maintenance service or buying the bleach yourself? Liquidator?
-In a pool this large, do you need to add the bleach in different locations, or just one, pouring slowly? Is it needed to test in different locations, or any location should be representative of pool?
-Curious to see water flow within the pool, would be amazing to see the ping pong test time lapse in that pool
-Where is the under 2ft deep area? Is it essentially to mimic a zero entry, or a children's play area/sitting area?
-Is that a swim around channel around the spa?

Congratulations to you both for earning, budgeting, and living! Thanks again for sharing, just wondering out loud, not requesting answers from you :)

Good questions!

I plan on buying 12% bleach 100 gallons per trip - I have a source - a chemical company (of which there are plenty in Houston) - that sells it bulk pick-up at $1.67/gal + tax.

Purchased 80 gallons of 31% muriatic at the pool store the other day @ $4/gallon on sale.

Will use (2) stenner 30 gallon tanks - one for bleach and one for acid - with variable speed pumps on a feature circuit. They will feed into injector ports on each pump set just before the return valves, so there will effectively be 13 distribution points in the pool.

Hope to do the maintenance myself - but time will tell if I can keep up with it.

Plan on getting a Dolphin M500 to help, but I'm planning on doing a lot of scrub time on the walls - especially during the break-in period and for algae blooms.

2' section is Baja shelf for adirondak chairs.
Back wall bench (center 50') is approximately 2' depth as well.
3' section is walk way in front of sunken seating area and 40" wide moat around hot tub - swimmable.
Left 41' of pool is 4' to 4'6".
Right 41' of pool is 4'6" to 10' depth.

Rarely do answers to my curiosities receive such exemplary answers. My deepest congratulations at your preparedness and time/financial efficiency.

and for algae blooms.

These are mostly, if not entirely, avoidable if you practice the TFP best practices. You're obviously well informed, and I'm very eager to praise your preparedness this undertaking, but wish to ensure you understand that yes, with TFP, these are avoidable. Algae simply can not take foothold if your testing is done correctly, you keep your levels in range, and you keep even your low circulation spots above the min FC 24/7/365. Obviously disasters happen, tech fails, weather is excessive, bather load unpredictable, but if you test often enough and adjust enough - you can almost always win, if not always.

There are many that know robots in and out on this forum, if you have any questions about whether the M500 is the ideal option for you, or any other questions really, don't hesitate to ask as you'll see just how helpful the experts here can be for your situation.

Such an interesting build! Will you have more than one robot? I have the M500 (her name is Rosie), and I love it! I'm curious if there are commercial grade robots. (I'll be googling now...) I'm in the Houston area, so I hope you will be selling tickets for opening day (viewing only... !!) ::epds::

Annnd there are commercial grade robots for the pool! Very interesting!
