New Build in South Carolina (Pics of site and a few questions)

I'm definitely not a expert but what I have learned is if you're adding Automation then you should keep brands the same so they can play well with each other, so that may help your decision. I'm also thinking those two pumps listed are not on the same level being the Intelliflo is more like the Cadillac(upgrade) and the Max-Flo the Buick(entry level) but again I'm not a expert in this field. The Ecostar would be more comparable to the Intelliflo, someone more knowledgeable will be along I'm sure to help.

Just gotta decide how much concrete decking to pour.

Far more than you initially think. Seriously, get as much as you can afford as it is harder to add later and no one *ever* regrets having more than enough. Consider where you'll want tables and chairs, and where you'll put loungers... these all take up space and you'll want room to walk around them too.

Someone has mad skills looking at the back fill and grading!

Why are you doing a retaining wall? I know there is a reason but what I see does not look like one is really needed. Of course it could serve as a seating area! Put a table by it and call it a "bench"!

Hi Kim! It's very deceptive from that picture from the security cam up nice and high. It's actually quite a drop-off on that back side and the retaining wall will be 5-6 ft high in some areas just to be level with the pool deck. So the plan is to be able to pack dirt against that wall and then have a lower tier to the yard behind the pool with steps coming down to it built into the wall.

5 to 6 FEET??? high? Yeah that would be quite a drop! What are you going to have the wall made of?

Hi Kim....sorry I'm just not replying to your question from forever ago =/ I'm getting ready to update this thread with a couple recent pics. Yes, the the wall is probably about 6 ft at the highest point.

A couple updated pics from the build. We decided to extend the retaining wall all the way too the adjacent woods and a 90 degree turn up the hill so that we could pick up quite a bit of usable yard by the pool instead of that area essentially just being lost space on a hill. It took way more fill dirt that I expected, but I know we'll be glad in the end we did it that way.

What Maddie said! You are going to love having that much yard to play in! I see a quiet reading area over there with a hammock. A basketball hoop over here, a firepit with seating over in that spot.................

Glad to get some positive feedback. I didn't want the deck to overwhelm the pool. I was also worried about the fact that all four sides aren't really symmetrical in any way. But hopefully that's not really a big deal either.
