New Build in East Tennessee

I have been lurking here for months as we have been discussing and planning our new pool. I am as green as they come and know very little about pools so I greatly appreciate all of the experienced pool aficionados on here that so graciously help out us newbies.

So we are ready to sign the contract on our new inground pool but would love to get some opinions on the specs listed below before we get too committed:

18' X 31" Kidney Shaped Pool
Polymer Wall/Liner Pool
3'4" Shallow End to 8' Deep End
17,356 Gallons
2 1084 Skimmers
2 Returns
1 Step Return
1.5 hp Hayward Super Pump
Hayward Aqua Rite Salt System
30" Sand Filter w/ 300 lb 20 Mesh Silica Sand
T104R 22oV Time Clock

Not really sure what alot of this is so please chime in if anybody sees any red flags or if I am missing any important information.

I will try to get some pics of the location of the pool.

What is the time clock? Not heard of this before.

Lights? Any?

Welcome to TFP... a great place to find the answers to all your "Who did it?" questions...

The only thing I noticed is that you are getting a single speed pump. Since with a SWCG, you'll need to run your pump longer, I would recommend either a 2-speed pump or a VS pump. This will drastically reduce your electrical costs.

Good questions on the model numbers. No idea! Will have to get with the builder on this. Will also look into the variable speed pump as well. We have 2 lights going in the pool as well.

What kind of lights? There are many to choose from.

Do you have the design plans? I would like to see the one that has returns, skimmer, and light placement. There are some things we tweak as far as these items go to make sure you have the best pool for your family and home!

The design is not very detailed. The builders in my area are slim and only one with good reviews and references. He does thinks very simple so the designs are not very detailed in my opinion. I will see if I can scan them and upload.
