New Build in Corinth TX

My flagstone didn't look like that when new. In fact, it wasn't even that bad after about 14 years of wear and tear with metal outdoor furniture sitting on it. There were a few scratches here and there but only what I considered normal use for a patio.

I wouldn't expect many if any scratches on a coping area.

Definitely replace them...

Had my coffee out by the concrete hole in my backyard. So pretty and relaxing, even with a dog chase. Will be even nicer when it's done though!

You made my day with the dog video!!! The girls are terrific! I love dog smiles - just love them. Man, they are having a ball out there with so much to investigate - their very own obstacle course! The yellow girl looks incredibly impressed with herself and her ingenuity! It's almost as if you can read her mind.....

How will they feel about it when it is all neat and trim and pretty? I'm wondering if they enjoy a good mess even better? I know more about cats, and some cats get really offended and miffed if things aren't tastefully done. Ahhhhh, cats and dogs!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Fittings are in. Hoping for plaster tomorrow. The guy came yesterday to work on the coping. When my husband met him in the back yard, he seemed shocked at how many pieces needed to be redone. He said he wasn't sure if he even had enough flagstone. He repaired one corner piece and left. I'm shocked he thought those pieces were okay to use in the first place and honestly hope he can handle the job without delaying us further. We were hoping to use the pool before school starts on Monday.

PB is meeting the coping sub at my house this morning. Everything has been incredible until this issue. Hopefully they figure this out because I'm not okay with the coping as is.

We had a big pow wow at the house this morning. Unfortunately I was at the office. They are replacing the gouged pieces of flagstone and are sanding the ones that are scratched. Using Water, acid and sanding wheel on the slightly scratched ones. I am attaching a before and after pic my husband sent me. They are going to seal all of it for me for free. They said if I hate it, they will replace every single piece because they want us happy.
PB said it will not decrease the life of the flagstone and with the sealant it should be fine but he will do whatever we want. Going to look at it tonight but would appreciate anyone's thoughts.

Honestly I can still see some of the deeper scratches still as little white marks. My question would be does it look like the other coping that isn't scratched at all? Can you tell what ones were fixed? If you can tell I wouldn't accept it. If you can't tell then I probably would leave it.

I will definitely concur that Claffey will make you happy. They are great to deal with, even 4 years after we built the pool with them.

I think that the after picture looks great. Great looking pool

Claffey is the best. This is really the only hiccup in the whole process besides me wanting my pool built overnight. Patience is not a virtue I possess.

I will check it out tonight and tomorrow and keep ya'll posted.

Can't imagine building with anyone else after hearing and seeing other people's issues with their PB!

Unfortunately we won't be doing plaster tomorrow. Fortunately my PB is willing to come out and replace every stone I'm not happy with. The acid wash made a big difference but still want several replaced.
