You gotts send pics of the deck once they get working on that. I also had a question, do you know about what it was per ft for your deck? We are doing something similar to yours, I have a 500sq ft flagstone deck but then I am doing the 2 color skin pattern with some flagstone ribbons and was looking at doing the border like you have and the PB wants to charge a small fortune for that saying there is a lot of extra work that goes into it. I just wanted ot see if yours was that way as well. Thank s cant wait to see the finished project it is amazing so far
I'll break it down as best I can - I only have the total price but I also have the estimated square footage and can give you the price from that.
I have 1100sqft of new concrete pad - this was $6.50/sqft
I have 1350 sqft of the overlay (1100 new plus 250 existing) which was an additional $4.50/sqft
The flagstone border around the outside was $2500 and is listed as 250 linear feet so I'm guessing $10/ft.
It was a little more difficult for them to do as it involved 2 sets of forms so that the flagstone would sit at the same height as the rest of the deck, but nothing major and the entire pour was done in one go.
In this shot, you can see what I mean - the deck was poured but the flagstone border was not done yet so you can see the 'shelf' the flagstone will sit on. It's no different to doing coping (the same guys did it) and they knocked all of the flagstone border out in one day.
I'm really glad we did it, as we really like how it turned out but it certainly did add a little to the cost.
I just spoke to my wife and the decking guys were just getting there as she was going out this morning so I should have decking shots in a few days. I was going to wait until Friday to post any more pictures as the sprinklers will be done, decking will be done, palms are being planted Friday morning and yard should get sod on Friday too.
Good luck with your build!
