New build, Houston (Cypress), Tx

Wow cbink.. I have posted with you on the other forum. I had gone on vacation , so didn't log to either of the two forums and was pleasantly surprised to read your posts here. Great work so far on your pool. Glad to see that you have not only taken the plunge and are just few days
away.
will talk/chat with you more.Keep the pics coming.

Decking:

Pre-plumbing for future outdoor kitchen:

Fire pit which should be getting stacked stone in the next day or so:

We still have a bit to do. We're waiting on the slide right now. That needs to be done before the wetedge can be applied and could be what holds us up. There are only a couple of really good guys in the area that do this kind of work and they're really busy so we're waiting on that. Flagstone surround to decking should be getting done along with the stacked stone around the fire pit in the next couple of days. It's my little boy's birthday on the 19th so we're really hoping that it's all finished and swimmable for his birthday... :snorkle: :swim:

Thanks Ken, getting there!!

Got my TF-100 yesterday too. Will test my base water this weekend. I've had my water softener switched off during the pool build but I'm going to switch back on and take samples of softened and unsoftened water because I'm curious.

Cbink and TexSS-

I have a hearing south of Houston Monday in Wharton, Texas at 1:30 p.m. I expect it will last the rest of the day. I will waive your direction as I am traveling through.

Ken - the circle of concrete is going to be a fire pit. It should be getting stacked stone tomorrow.

Got an update from the PB today... The slide is holding things up... Plaster for pool scheduled for the 17th... Slide to be done before then... So close and yet still so far away...!! Stamped overlay is the last thing to be done and will take about 3 days. So looks like we have two more weeks.

I actually have my wife on side with the outdoor TV - we're thinking 55" LED though I may push it to 60" depending on what I can get at what price. It's in a covered patio but may got some rain if the wind is blowing the rain horizontally so don't want to be dropping thousands on it, just in case it does get ruined. I'm hoping a cover (and then eventually I will build a cabinet around it) will stop that from happening . I'm banking on getting 2 years out of it. If I get that, I'll be happy and it's worthwhile not having bought an outdoor TV.
The guy who does our A/V recommended this approach to us vs. the big $ for a weatherproof outdoor TV. He does the same thing and currently has a 5-year old LCD TV hung on his patio wall and it still works. Ours is mounted on the wall in the middle of our patio and under the patio covering. Although it does not get direct exposure to sun or rain, we did get a breathable cover that is made for outdoor TVs mainly to deal with fog/moisture.

BTW, your build looks sweet. :goodjob: You will have quite a setup when all is said and done.

Thanks Bo! Though the TV may be on the back burner as child safety fence and repairing my sprinkler system are in front of it and neither of them are exactly cheap.

The safety fence has been the source of a few frustrated conversations between me and the wife. Any way we install it will lose us a load of valuable deck space.

That's quite a drive isn't it for a Monday morning (if you're driving that is)?!

Yes. I will be driving. I usually fly if it is further than Houston, but to go to Wharton I would have to fly to Houston. So driving I will go.
