New Beach Build

Check you heater's manual..........some of them want a certain CH. I forget why but there is a reason.

I am going to tweak how you write up you test results. Please post them like this:

FC
CC
PH
TA
CH (if your heater says it cares)
CYA

For FC don't bother doing the drop test for it. Only do the powder test. It is MUCH more accurate. The drop one is more "yep there is chlorine in the water".

I'm heading into my final 2 weeks of teaching, so life is chaos and even a short dip in the pool is helping my anxiety! Which is still plenty with the pool if you can believe it. I was putting in my CYA granules and I couldn't understand why they were just sitting in the skimmers. Turns out the pool builders had left them off for some reason and my kids were swimming in it with just the 2 filters in the bottom. My amazing neighbor helped us out there. Luckily nobody got their hair stuck or anything (which is why we have 2 instead of 1 bottom filter in these new pools). He won't be out to do "pool school" until the 18th. Luckily KimKats links are helping me out immensely, thank you TFP!

Pool fountain is a curved LED waterfall, which is backordered until July. Sigh. Someday we will laugh about all our bad luck, but it is too soon.;)

Irrigation guy fell through, so we are waiting another week for that and to finish up landscaping. Hopefully sod and finishing landscaping can happen before Father's Day weekend. Trying to figure out storage solutions right now for all the tools and toys, it is overwhelming me already. If anyone has any hints, I am all ears. I am ready to be done with this project!

Here I think you need some of this  to help you get through the last two weeks of school AND the last of the pool and area redo!!! Thank goodness for neighbors!!

Storage ideas-muriatic acid needs to be by its self. Here is one example: https://www.amazon.com/HDX-2-Shelf-Plastic-Multi-Purpose-Cabinet/dp/B018VQBA9Y/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1528069626&sr=8-5&keywords=resin+two+shelf+cabinet+with+doors Note the doors lock to keep kids out. This is not something you want them messing with nor do you want it by the chlorine as they don't play well together and keep it away from metal as it can cause rust.

Your test kit should be kept inside the house for temp control. I keep mine in one of my cabinets in the kitchen.

Chlorine can be kept in the laundry room.

TOYS! There a MANY diy pvc holders for the toys and such. Here is one I love: Rolling Storage Bin-Extra Large | Improvements
Do a search for PVC pool toy storage and don't get lost down the pintrest rabbit hole LOL

Do these ideas help?

I am SO glad the links are helping you so much!

Good Morning TFP! I am sorry it has been awhile, but end of school and vacation got us backed up. We are amazingly STILL not completely finished, the waterfall has been on backorder for months. We hope to have it in by the end of the summer now. Until then, here is our mostly done backyard in use. My daughter had her birthday pool party last weekend and my son has his today. I absolutely LOVE having a pool!

We did have one glitch in our pool while we were gone. The PB came buy to change out the controller face because one of the keys was not working. When they did they, it accidentally changed the filter to on only 2 hours on low. With the heat and humidity, you can imagine what happened...we came home to a GREEN pool. They must have realized what happened, because they sent the office lady out while we were still gone and she put in 5 bags of salt, so I was at 4400 salt content too. I was so mad because I had worked so hard to get everything right and we only had a couple of days until my daughter's birthday to get it back. Luckily, the PB took responsibility in the end and send his guys out several times to help me. Algae is the devil! I'll post final pics when the fountain is in...someday...:)

LOVE IT!!! So glad you have already been able to share it with everyone! Looks like it was a hit!!!

GURRRRRRRRRr on filter time mess up!! THEN they added salt????? ummmmmmmmm that does not clear algae!!! OH wait.......they thought it was because the SWG was not working due to low salt?? DOH! SO glad to hear they got it cleared up in time for the party though!! Any idea how they did it?

Well, the filter on HIGH for days on end and cleaning it every 12 hours. Lots of scrubbing and hand vacuuming too. I’m so glad it was able to be fixed in time too. Thank you for all your help Kim!

Looking good! I am a big fan of your porch extension. Any chance we could get a pic from further away, so it captures the covered porch and the house together?

Sure, we are going out now to swim, let me see what my phone can capture....
